Having grown up in Iowa, a state that never allowed slavery and freed a slave in the first reported Iowa legal case, I never felt the need to #whitewash the history of #slavery. What bothers me is that the same right wing that promotes slavery also tells its supporters to see movies like “The Sound of Freedom” about the evils of modern slavery. You can’t have it both ways, #PragerU. Slavery is always and has always been 100% wrong.

The White Washing of History.

Enrique of Malacca was a slave and the first human known to have circumnavigated the earth.

Enrique was purchased by Ferdinand Magellan when Enrique was 14. Enrique was captured by the Portuguese in Malacca but he spoke the language of the people of Limasawa Island in what is now the Philippines.

Magellan died in what are now the Philippine islands without circling the Globe and Enrique (not his birth name) didn't get back on the Portuguese ships after the Portuguese sailors got their asses kicked severely by the Islanders.

He had circumnavigated the globe when he reached the chain of islands where he came from.
I don't know if he set Magellan and his men up to get slaughtered but they were murdering slavers so I hope he did.

Several #Police guys killed a 16 yo black #Teenager equipped with a knife, who wanted to commit suicide. The police took few Minutes after arrival to shoot him with an MP right in front of his teacher.

The Next days everyone tried to downplay what happened. Basically supporting the argument, that it was not racism, there was an urge to act for the police; everything fine in #Germany. There were few small demonstrations.

But when it is about the #Racism of "the others" then you get 100.000s of people on the street, like with the previous #BLM demos.

There is not an #AntiRacism majority in Germany, just a majority to #whitewash themselves.
