📷 Looking at the picture this morning, I remembered the radically-#queer piece by #DavidWojnarowicz, "Untitled (One Day This Kid...)," 1990.
That's David as a kid in the center, "protected" by his scathing prosecution of the official forces arrayed against queer people in the US.
🔄 Read his words and share the message. #Everything gained in #LGBTQIA rights since he made this (and died of AIDS two years later) is under threat—again!

Baldegg Monastery in Hochdorf (LU) near Lake Lucerne
Here in 1830, young girls would learn to read, write, maths, house work, agricultural work, as well as Catholic values.
In 1901 it becomes a proper monastery.
New buildings were added to the site from 1968 to 1979. Design from world renown architect Marcel Breuer (notable work: #WhitneyMuseum in NYC)

Below are two ticket stubs for a November 1932 performance of #RichardWagner’s #Gotterdammerung (the final #Opera in the #RingCycle) at the old #MetOpera house. The stubs belonged to the artist #EdwardHopper and his wife Jo. The stubs are currently on display at the #WhitneyMuseum as part of a special exhibit on Hopper and #NewYorkCity. Apparently he and his wife saved their ticket stubs over the years! (They also attended Aida at one point.)

Really enjoyed the #hopper exhibit at the #whitneymuseum - gorgeous, rich paintings, incredible sketches and etchings. He and his wife Josephine Hopper, also a painter, lived and worked in an apartment overlooking Washington Square Park for over 40 years witnessing and reflecting the changing New York city throughout that time, a city he described as disordered and energetic, and his favorite.
This show reveals Hopper’s love for New York and attempts to preserve its beauty and energy.
