The Bat (1959, directed by Crane Wilbur) is a #Gothic #WhoDunnit that’s better (and less campy) than you might think.

#AgnesMoorhead plays a writer of murder mysteries & May well be the original #FuckAroundAndFindOut. Really, all the women are pretty cool in this.

And #VincentPrice as the town doctor is all charm and elegance, even (and especially) when discussing murder.

Included with Prime & MGM+ (but worth the rental).

I’m realizing that at its heart, this POV arc is a #mystery #WhoDunnit. Part of the problem with the post-midpoint scenes is that only one suspect remains, making the story seem like it’s stalled until the protagonist figures it out.

Among other things, I need to maintain the mystery. Make sure other suspects are guilty of and hiding something, just not the main thing. I can already tell the #SecondDraft is going to be much stronger. I’m learning so much.

Nine years living in London and I never got around to seeing this classic piece of #theatre. Have remedied that by going along to see this production which was great fun. A few cities left on this tour and can highly recommend for any #AgathaChristie fan.
