Over the last few weeks I was learning how to do better embeddings for NLP tasks, esp semantic search. But i couldn't figure out what to do with them afterwords, I deleted them all. Today, I watched a tutorial on embeddings and realized I could have visualized them! 🤦‍♀️ I had embeddings for different topics and languages, which would have been a great experiment to see how different models do embeddings differently. #embeddings #semanticsearch

First day back on the job, started with post-vacation serenity going strong. Then it all got slapped out of me with an extreme demonstration of why some developers can't be trusted with certs, keys, crypto or key management. Not even with file system permissions, for that matter.

Every time I feel like we're finally getting somewhere with appsec, someone finds a way to remind me how far we have yet to go. So many years, so little change. It's a bit exhausting and frankly has me wondering whether or not I should just go do something else.
