Charging an electric car is somewhat of a science. You definitely need to install their app and create an account. But having an account at chargerparty A doesn't allow you to charge at party B. You need another app/account.
You can also get a charging dongle from another party, which might have a contract with A and B.

Taking a "normal" car to the petrol station: paying with cash or card. Done.
