After buying my second hand #Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8, I discovered traces of fungus inside. So I decided not to take any risk by replacing it with a newer zoom lens, with a fluorine coating, even if it meant losing the constant #aperture. This is the Nikkor 16-80mm f/2.8-4. And ... wow ! This lens is crazy #sharp, much more than the 17-55mm (at all apertures, even #wideopen and whatever the focal length). I lose the constant aperture, but for the rest, it's a wonder ! #Nikon #DSLR #Zoom #Lens

Shallow depth of field is my jam. Every few years I kind of rediscover this, even though I've written about it a dozen times and even wrote a chapter on it in my book.

There have been times when I get in a funk with photography, and the cure for me invariably is to throw the f-stop wide open and let the bokeh take over.
