@gadgetoid I know which WIFI I'm getting (Netgear WAX630EP probably) That is #WiFi6E w/7800mbps throughput total so I'm pretty sure I'm good with it. I just need to find a good ethernet router switch with DHCP/NAT so I can plug this sucker in...

In a whole new world of interesting problems with Wifi 6E and MacBooks. There are some compatibility issues with the MR6450 and the 2023 MacBook Pro it seems which results in it not working out of the box. Anyone been experiencing this or with 6E compatibility in general?

@7666 @N33R personally I demand all my devices to support ethernet - including phones and tablets.

Tho they have a valid reason to require a dongle for that.

That being said shitty consumer wifi sucks ass - once you experienced some good #WiFi6E deployment you won't miss Ethernet unless you're used to 10GBit/s and find 2,5GBit/s too slow...

Bought a Wi-Fi 6E router and the benefits are clear. My 6E iPad Pro gets 900+ download now (my non-6E iPhone 14 Pro Max gets about half this).

Now I just need to figure out a way of getting a stronger connection to the Mac Studio upstairs.

I've found something interesting about the new 6E MacBook Pro: it won't list 6 GHz SSIDs in a Multiple BSSID IE. A Multiple BSSID IE improves airtime efficiency by advertising multiple SSIDs in a single beacon and is a mandatory feature in #WiFi6E. 🧵

On a more positive note, it appears channel hopping works as expected in the new 6E Macs, so I'll be re-enabling passive scan mode for the new M2 Macs only (M1 Macs don't work well in passive mode). #wifi6e #M2Pro

It turns out the changes I made about a year ago ahead of Apple launching a 6E Mac worked fine, and even though APIs still need to be updated, you scan for 6 GHz networks today using WiFi Explorer and the new M2 Pro.
