Good morning, friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse!
I've finally launched the #wiki of BSD Cafe (https://wiki.bsd.cafe) - for now, it only contains some information about our Cafe, but it will become a repository for both internal (how BSD Cafe services work, etc.) and external (tutorials, etc.) information, available to BSD Cafe users who can publish and edit content.
At the same time, I've also brought the new #Miniflux online, with registration and access info in the wiki: https://wiki.bsd.cafe/miniflux-bsd-cafe
Have fun, have a great day, and stay tuned!

Good afternoon, friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse!
Today is a very busy day for me. In Italy, the week of "Ferragosto" (15 August) almost everything comes to a halt.
For me, it means double work: during the preceding week (this one), I need to wrap up tasks for those who will be on vacation, and during the next week, I'll take the opportunity to perform tasks that I can't when others are working. The result is that this is one of the busiest periods of the year, but that's perfectly fine. Many years ago, the week of Ferragosto was perfect for traveling abroad and handling work from there. Now, I do a lot more things online, so there's less need for travel.
I've started setting up Wiki.js for the bsd.cafe website - I'm trying to figure out whether to manage it as a simple wiki (like wiki.bsd.cafe) or use it as the project's homepage as well.
What do you think?

I'm experimenting with wiki.js, and it seems like a great platform. I'm considering installing it as the homepage for the domain bsd.cafe. It would be easy to manage, and users could have their own space to share content, creating a shared and public knowledge base. Thanks again to @mark for the recommendation.

@stefano I wasn't aware of Gitea's for-profit future, thanks!
I recently went through a long search journey for a wiki. Tried a few like #mkdocs, #DokuWiki and #Outline. Since I have users who have no experience (and will 🙂) to learn Markdown, I decided to go with #WikiJS as it is also quite easy to set up.

Okay so I'm thinking to try out a #wiki and a #ticketing system in my #homelab
I'm looking at #wikijs and #HESK as my options right now.
I think it'll be really cool to have all the instructions for how to use my #VPN to access #Minecraft and #jellyfin in one place I can change whenever.
I'm thinking it'll be fun to use the ticketing system to keep track of projects and problems I'm having (and maybe let my fiance use it to assign chores haha!)
I love finding problems for these solutions

I might migrate my documentation website from Bookstack to Wiki.js. I like latter's layout and admin panel better, but Bookstack has a really logical structure. I'm still playing around with #Wikijs, so we'll see where that leads me.
Work day is over. Maybe now I can sort out why #wikijs can't let me upload any pictures to local storage
#worldbuilding #minecraft #wikijs
TL;DR: I need some advice on wikis!
As some of you know, I run the Psion Documentation Project (https://doc.psion.info/). It currently runs #BookStack, which is OK but I don't love. It's also pretty stagnant at the moment, even though my Last #Psion Obsidian is rammed with info.
Basically, what wiki is good for a vintage platform project?
Alternatively, if you are a regular user of a retro #wiki, which one is it and why do you like it?

It is a good day to start with #wikijs https://js.wiki/ and #mailcow https://mailcow.email/
This will be a long shot but better to ask than wonder forever.
I'm using wiki.js for a wiki. What I'm looking for is a way to automatically create a TOC page for any articles inside a folder. I know I can create my own, but I rather have something that will do this automatically for me. Even if it means hitting a button to generate the TOC. #wiki #wikijs
While it's not what I'm after, I have stumbled across https://mermaid.js.org/ (which at first sounded promising from a line in the description: "to create and modify diagrams dynamically)
Nevertheless, I may give it a go as it is supported in wiki.js (which I use for our internal KB):
https://docs.requarks.io/editors/markdown#mermaid-diagrams
This was a handy video to watch someone make use of it, too:

bon je crois que je viens de me fâcher contre #wikijs
comme il ne propose pas d'outils d'organisation de répertoire, je l'ai fait depuis mon dépot git synchronisé en bidirectionnel. tout a bien fonctionné si ce n'est que les pages déplacées ne le sont pas 😢
Can someone tell me about @MediaWiki@twitter.com vs #WikiJS?
I'm keen to implement the power of a wiki but with a completely overhauled frontend. I'm unsure from the docs if this is possible.

@JohanEmpa @ruud I like the look of #wikijs on #PikaPods. Likely my next deployment
