Adding #wikilinks to iA Writer has been the coolest choice ever. Writing, handling and managing documentation (along with private notes, journals, etc) is a breeze now.

#Pandoc 3 introduced #Markdown support for #wikilinks:

There is no consensus across tools whether the link title should come before or after the pipe character, so pandoc supports both. Choose by enabling either of the new extensions

or
+wikilinks_title_before_pipe

Works with #CommonMark, too: for GitHub wiki input, use gfm+wikilinks_title_after_pipe

@thomasottio I actually didn't know #iAWriter had added #wikilinks. That's good news.

Worth mentioning:

- If you change the name of an iAWriter document, links to it won't update.

- iAWriter doesn't display a list of all docs that link to a given document

These two features are powerful and, for folks like me, essential.

Don't forget that one can use Obsidian absolutely free forever. (There are paid plans for syncing, but one could always use iCloud or another service instead.)

iA Writer got a major update today, which includes #wikilinks. I think they're playing catch-up with Obsidian. I was surprised to see the update is free.

Meine künftigen Projekte möchte ich von keiner Software abhängig machen! Es scheint sich ein Trend zu zeigen, das immer mehr #Zettelkasten Software entsteht die auf lokalen Dateien, #Markdown, #Wikilinks und Tags (auch im yaml-Header) basieren… zumindest können die Programme #Zettlr, #Obsidian und #logseq damit umgehen. Ich versuche meine Markdown-Zettel auf dem kleinsten gemeinsamen Nenner zu halten: Tags im yaml-Metadatenblock und sprechende [[Wikilinks]] (keine IDs als Dateinamen).

thought about this some more and I think the [[wikilinks]] syntax should be extensible and contained within the square brackets.

So, I propose [[wikilink|wikilink OR URI]]. This gives us aliases.
