It's often claimed that wild parks (i.e. large zoos in forests with "game" and other wild animals) are somehow better than zoos, as e.g. the cages are much larger and there are no 'exotic' animals. The animals are more or less shown in their natural habitat -- except of course that they live inside a fence.
While they were historically used for hunting, today they are mostly used for entertainment (like zoos) and educational purposes. For example, children can learn how boars look like. Yet, locking up animals into cages (except perhaps for preservation) is a form of exploitation! Even worse, some wild parks are still used as hunting grounds and most of them breed animals, so that the (in captivity born) babies serve as tourist attraction.
