The Helleborus niger (#Christmas #Rose) [was] celebrated by Pliny, Spenser, & Cowley;
But I never see it w/out recalling the description poor Anne #Brontë gives in her #Strange, wild #Story, "The Tenant of #Wildfell Hall."

After her sad, unhappy life... [Helen] says,
"Look, Gilbert, it is still fresh & blooming as a #Flower can be, with the cold snow, even now, on its #Petals. Will you have it?"
