Paradise is now all about views… is due largely to state and federal aid... to rebuild single-family homes in disaster areas.

Taken in by this illusion, more people move to the fire zone - and their presence creates political pressure for even *more* heroic measures.
The thing is, fire suppression doesn't mean no fires - it means *#wildfires*.
