A bit of a different wildlife photo today. This is a 5 second exposure of a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias). This heron was looking back and forth while standing still so I decided to see how a long exposure worked out.

A very young Eastern Cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus) eating Hawkesbeard stems in a backyard garden. This was a very nice subject to come across while testing a brand new zoom lens. :)

The Eastern Chipmunk is quick, agile and so darn cute. A small brown rodent with stripes and a garden pest for sure, but because they are so adorable you have to love them. This Chippie was sitting quietly on a log in the autumn woods in Guelph Ontario Canada.

A portrait photo of a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron. As they age, they will develop the beautiful steely blue and black plumage and yellow crown of an adult. This species population is considered stable but loss of habitat by development and habitat degradation could change that status.

The Red Fox, Vulpes vulpes, is a small doglike mammal with a sharp pointed face and ears and an agile, lightly built body and a coat of lustrous fur. This hungry Red Fox kept coming around looking for food at the same time each day, 8:00 pm and 8:00 am. at the Key River Canada.
