And not highly sought after but delicious, useful, and worth picking if you have the right recipes for them. Commonly called pink cracking boletes. Really frequent suburban mushroom, I might just find quite a lot in a short scoot round on the bike later.

Often found on forest floor but these were growing out of a bed of #moss on a dead log.
These #mushrooms are #edible when cooked. I don't eat them as I prefer other edible #WildMushrooms for cooking.
NEVER eat any wild foods that you're not 100% able to identify! Rule 1 of #WildFood foraging.

Simple instructions for making mushroom salt.
This is a great way to preserve the last of the winter mushrooms - if you’re foraging keep an eye out for late winter mushrooms like black trumpets and velvet shanks - but you can use store-bought mushrooms too.
Top tip: Excellent on cheese on toast 🤌🏻
