It's the cotyledons of 'ostrich fern'🌿 (Matteuccia struthiopteris) which I planted in my garden.

Wiki🔍 says they're common species in northern hemisphere (- I didn't know!),

and though it's hard to imagine by their look now, many would love to eat their curly fronds in the spring.

Weeds? Many Americans are now crazy about weeds. They want to kill all weeds using toxic and carcinogenic chemicals. But many of the so called weeds are edible and nutritious. They serve as good vitamin C supplements in the winter.

I just collected some very young purple nettles, dandelions, and bittercress. They will be in my noodle soup tonight.

Believe or not, its leaf-buds in spring taste really good (- usually frittered😋 ).

My purple beauties! these two are my best shots in my attempt to capture purple flowers

Murdania edulis, one morning on my way to my paddy field i was stunned to see these. It had just rained, streams of water were flowing with the sweetest of melodies and these were scattered all over the path in full splendour.

One with green berries is a wild solanum species which many of us eat during monsoon.
