I recently read ’s Pattern Recognition, after seeing an article in the that made a case for it. I can see the case: the writing is exciting for the most part, until it is dragged into that dread sink of genre fiction, the need for a resolution of a problem. I’m down with solutions, I’m a great fan of pacing out London under the shadow of Sherlock Holmes and finding the criminal, but I’m also a fan of things blowing up in your face. limitedinc.blogspot.com/2022/1

Started the binge watch of last night; three episodes down, five to go. I've read the book so was looking forward to this, and I like what I see so far even if the London-based storyline seems to have taken a lot of liberties with the plot (to say the least). But, it looks fabulous, has decent pacing, is really fleshing out the characters, and it's so I'm always going to be happy about that anyway.

But that eye scene in episode one... urgh.
