#OMG... I ❤️ that series... I still have those old #PC entertainment utilities... get this... designed for (Win 3.1) #WIN31 or later... (which means... #WIN2000 at best)...
Wish replies allowed photos... (found it... needed to scroll lol) still have the original boxes (remember when software came in a box... with instructions...) 🤪
I still have #Homesite in the box... yes I was around well "before the internet"...

Stumbled across Calmira and saw the screenshots archive: http://calmira.net/screenshots/index.htm
Looks like it's a really nice way to make Windows 3.x much nicer to use.

Found it. In a coffee can. I'm sure that made sense at the time. Well anyway. Now I can capture whatever nonsense I get into on the #aptiva for fellow #msdos or #win31 #retrocomputing nutters out there.

However, at least using the generic epson 24 pin driver for linux, I'm getting pretty crap results.
Using the generic epson 9 pin driver for linux, I got even worse results (go figure)
Using an old 570+ driver (that's where the 70 came from) I got pretty crap results too (I think the 570 was a 9 pin printer, so this is not surprising.)
I am going to try it from my zine station in a few minutes, using a generic #win31 24-pin driver, and see how that goes.
Alright, I'm going to try Arachne as a web file viewer. I'll set it up in a few minutes.
I think I'm going to try and use QWK or BlueWave for offline email reading, which means that I need to find a #DOS or #Win31 program that can handle QWK or BlueWave email, and also I need to find a linux program that will fetch and send mail over POP/SMTP or IMAP and toss it as QWK or bluewave files.
If you have any thoughts on this, please let me know.
