Everyone agreed the windmill was haunted. Its collapse had killed 5 engineers from the city. And city people were likely to become haunts.
But smoke from the wildfires meant the solar panels were only catching two hours of light, just enough to cook dinner and upload the kids' homework. Not enough power for the filter units.
So she trudged up the hill to the haunted windmill. It wasn't entirely broken, after all. Maybe something could be done.

A bridleway adjacent to King's Mill, #Shipley, #WestSussex. The coloured finger post indicates a number of waymarked trails around #Knepp Wildland. The mill was built in 1879 and operated until 1926. It featured in the #BBC TV series #JonathanCreek. #FingerpostFriday #windmill

This mill in Wassenaar – outside The Hague – grinds grain to make flour.
It has 3 volunteer millers, and they continually watch the weather to ensure the arms are pointed in the right direction and to keep it from running amok.

Went out with my local #photography group last night to Burgh Castle to get some #sunset pictures. The area here on #Norfolk is really flat, so #telephoto was the order of the day. Didn’t get anything interesting with the castle itself, but did get this nice #windmill shot.
This trip also made me want a better tele zoom even more than I already did – the #Fujifilm XC 50–230 just isn’t very good 😕
