Spent my Sunday working on an upcoming #music release: "Dead Internet"!
It's my first #vaporwave track, out on Oct 13th, inspired by the mellow sounds used in 90's software like #Windows95.
Much like how vaporwave can be seen as a satirical take on consumer capitalism, "Dead Internet" is my satirical take on modern #SurveillanceCapitalism on the web, with lots of annoying #PopUps, bots, and the theory the web is "dead" with most online traffic being bot and AI-generated.

28 years ago, on August 24, 1995, the digital realm took a neon-lit turn as Microsoft unveiled Windows 95, the OG of operating systems
It was a time when dial-up internet reigned supreme, computing was, well, a bit more...radical, the Start button, "Start Me Up" and the iconic Windows 95 start-up sound.
So here's to the OS that brought us the digital pastel dreamscape, Windows 95 – forever etched in tech history.

The HP 386 is out again for some retro tinkering.

In a world where other browsers were like sleek sports cars, IE3 was the well-meaning family van. Sure, it got the job done, but let's face it – there were snazzier options out there.
Yet, IE3 brought its own quirks to the table, leaving us with fond memories of countless pop-ups.

#Retrocomputing fans can download the final updates released for '90s-era OSes.
#Microsoft took down the version of the site that could scan and update 95 and 98 in mid-2011. #WindowsUpdate Restored is lightly modified version of the original code, and the site itself doesn't use any kind of SSL or TLS encryption, so ancient #InternetExplorer versions can still access it without modification
