I finally released it!
Say hello to @ecrit , a minimalist Markdown editor for Windows 11.

I guess tomorrow is the day I’ll finally release it :)
I’m clearly not a designer. Here is the icon I created for my Windows app. Release is coming soon, so I though it would be a good idea to share this.
Spent a bit of time creating a TelemetryDeck C# client for my Windows app. Seems to work well. I've re-submitted the new Packages, added an option to deactivate analytics within the app, and updated the privacy policy. I guess I'll soon release it.
App is ready, website is ready… just need to find the time to publish everything :D
Started this app 7 years ago :D not sure it’s still relevant :D
So targeting a version of Windows, ensure some version of both. If I want a more recent version I embed them.

So just like that, my app grow from 9MB to 67MB, just to be sure it can run after being installed. I understand shipping stuff independently from the OS. It should be optional. Last update of Windows should have last version of both.

Meaning by default users can download an app from the Store and see a popup saying .NET must be installed... nice. For this to work I have to mark my app as WindowsAppSDKSelfContained and create .NET publish files so .NET is added to the Packages.

Publishing app for Windows is still such a delight. My app is an Windows App SDK .NET app. To work on user PC it needs the Windows App Runtime and the right version of .NET. When packaging from Visual Studio none of them is bundled with the app.

Microsoft allows you to do « app update » without uploading new package. I find this interesting. It allows you to update logo, screenshot, description, etc. without having to build a new version of the app.
I think I finally managed to create just the icons needed for a Windows 11 app.
But unfortunately I had to look at what icons are provided in official apps to have them right, because the doc is wrong. 😤
I understand the idea behind releasing .NET outside of Windows. But when you build a Windows App SDK app which will be downloaded from the Store, it should be self-contained by default. Expecting user to download .NET to run your app, is a no go.
Back in 2017 I started working on a Markdown editor for Windows 10. https://iatemycomputer.com/2017/07/10/back-in-business
Now, I’m almost ready to release it 😅.
During this time I migrated the app from UWP to the Windows App SDK.
And in the last few weeks, removed some features that still had bugs, so I could concentrate on polishing the release.
As I said 6 years ago: I don't have a release date yet, I'm aiming for sometime during the summer
Trying to take care of the assets for my Windows App. And as usual it’s a mess. I’ve built a Windows App SDK app, that will only run on the last Windows 11 build and more. Yet I need to provide assets for the Tiles or the Start Screen 🥲.
Going to sleep.
In September 2016 (yes almost 7 years ago) I started working on a UWP Markdown editor for Windows 10. It was almost finished, but never released it. I spend some time last year moving it from UWP to the Windows App SDK and Windows 11. And it is now almost done, again. I hope to be able to release it soon. The picture is from the original UWP version. #WindowsApp
Still waiting for Microsoft to certify my submission. I need this because I need a version of the app on the store to be able to get a license and test in purchasing the trial version… #windowsapp
⚡UPDATE
📣 if you are an AUTOMATIC1111 user... maybe you could find this Windows App helpful, but only if you are a "lazy" person 😎

KDE Connect is a perfect application to send files, share clipboard, control media, mute media in case of an incoming call, use a device as input (mouse/keyboard) of another device and much more.
It runs on all main operating systems and don't need mandatory a Linux system. I use it between two smartphone as well with a smartphone and a MS Windows PC or for sure with my Linx PC!
