Drinks diary 3 May 2014: more casual racism overheard, this time at our favourite neighbourhood Iraqi restaurant where we were seated near a large party celebrating a birthday and some boorish dude asked are Iraqis even middle eastern and he pronounced it like "eye-rack". Also he said "these people". Ugh.
