I’m acutely reminded of the ONE time I had the opportunity to play #WindSynth at a black church in South Minneapolis, sometime around 2006 or so.

I’d brought my own canned accompaniment, but a minute or so in, brother had come in on the #HammondOrgan, & shit started cookin’. I faded out the backing track, & we fuckin’ took OFF. Improvisation went bananas. Dancin’, jivin’, mass hysteria.

Thinking back on it still brings joyous tears to my eyes, despite the fact that I no longer believe.
