Today I Found Out - The Surprisingly Interesting Reason Chicago is Called the "Windy City"

An interesting fact that I learned recently is that the term "The Windy City" has nothing to do w/the cold wind that blows into Chicago off of Lake Michigan in the winter which is called "The Hawk."

The term "The Windy City" has its origins in news paper reports about politics in Chicago sometime during the 1850's and all of the political "hot air" that was common in Chicago then, as it still is now.
