U.S. Wine Production 1995-2022, California and Other States.
's wine production has been declining since 2017. Likewise, its share in U.S. wine production has been falling, too -- from 91% in 1995 to less than 80% in 2022.

In 1877, Louis André Angibaud developed an organic fertilizer made from composted French fish for grape growers and others. "Superguano" was an alternative to seabird Guano from South America. Angibaud & Spécialités still produce today. Here, a poster from 1928;

The Port of Bordeaux in 1927, Chartrons and Quai de Bacalan near BDX center. After WWII, the Port of Bordeaux opened up several terminals closer to the ocean. The main wine container terminals now are Bassens and especially Le Verdon (opened in 1976) at the mouth of the Gironde. bordeaux-port.fr/en/port-borde

Steinberger Label 1857. Steinberg is a 32.4ha wall-enclosed vineyard near Hattenheim in the Rheingau, the largest wall-enclosed vineyard in Germany. Founded around 1170 by Cistercian monks of nearby Kloster Eberbach. The vineyard wall was completed in 1767.

1938 Citroën Traction Avant 11CV advert. In France, a car should be able to carry 2 barriques of wine or six 15 btl crates (strange case size)! Between 1934-1957, Citroën produced ca. 760,000 Avant Tractions. The car was also known as gangster limousine (in movies and in reality)
