I'm not sure if it's because I've tried bad examples or if it's a more difficult grape to handle then Primitivo. They all tasted overly tannic, almost giving an aftertaste of scorched ground. They were all IGPs which is not the best of quality, granted, but I can't find a reasonably priced #SaliceSalentino or #NegramaroD'Otranto in the UK. Will have a look once in Italy. #italianwine #winelover

Excellent #wine, light, pale in colour. I'm not a fan of zesty wines but this one was elegant, has a certain shy minerality in the background that smoothes the acidity a bit and I love it for it. We've tried our first #falanghina #wine and it was great. Pronounced orange and floral notes, deep gold in colour. I liked it from the beginning, my Richard found it a bit too sweet at first while I didn't. But he changed his assessment by the end #winelover #winetasting #italianwine

#wine had a nice dinner with friends on Saturday. We started off with a #Soave classico, it was gorgeous. Soave is so underrated, people should really give it a go, one of the best whites from #italy. We then moved to a #Riesling and this was... Odd. The smell was putting us off a bit, reminded us of open fields and cattle. The taste saved it a bit, it was very honey rich. I'll try other Rieslings in the future, hopefully I'll find one more to my taste. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek
