Turns out there's even engineering work and historical attampts at using an autogyro wingsail on a boat. Which would be both weird and cool and makes me wonder if you could combine the functions of a electrical-generating wind turbine and an autogyro.

The last couple of days I've been fascinated with #wingsails and have been reading just about everything on the Internet about them. Wingsails basically use aircraft-style wings for boat propulsion.

Wingsails have some significant advantages and are easily the most efficient wind technology. However, there are downsides and slow adoption means a lack of technical investment in finding solutions for those problems.
