For the past three days I have been using my #GPD #WinMax2 as my daily driver for work, hooked up to my main monitor. It's been working *very* well so far, using a lightweight #Debian #VM on my newly built custom #NAS as the remote development environment helps a lot too. Not that the WM2 wouldn't be able to handle my workload, but it's nice to have a more capable machine comfortable handle it instead, keeping the WM2 cool and quiet.

Setting up #PikaBackup on my little #GPD #WinMax2, which I've been using as my daily driver the past few days as an experiment.

Pika has added some nice convenient options since the last time I set up my main machine's backup with it; several checkboxes to exclude some common data you might not want to back up. Very nice!

I still add a few more exclusions, namely from messy apps that don't follow XDG standards well enough. I'm looking at you, #Firefox and #VSCode.

I must say, really impressed with the Win Max 2 mini laptop it bought. Basic specs are AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, 32 GB rami, 1 terabyte SSD. Pretty good at running my games (Stray, Jedi Fallen Order). Looking forward to be able to game while traveling to South Korea next year in spring. Highly recommend it to the mobile gamer. #GPD #WinMax2

Ein kleines Update zum #winmax2:

Ich bin hellauf begeistert von dem Gerät! Portabel, leistungsstark und im silent mode angenehm leise auch unter Last.
Der integrierte Controller funktioniert sehr gut, ist aber logischerweise nicht ganz so in der Hand wie beim Steamdeck. Kann ich aber verkraften.

Eine kleine Kinderkrankheit gibt‘s aber: Bei vielen Usern (und auch bei mir) funktionierte nach ein paar Tagen das Touchpad nicht mehr. Da hat GPD aber wohl schnell einen Fix nachgeschoben.

Und es ist angekommen!!

Schon unglaublich, Freitag in Hong Kong verschickt, und heute am Montag hier angekommen!
