And now we've got parents who were winter catastrophizers who pass this viral mindset on to new generation. They don't know any different. True believers that being outside is bad. Then we wonder about causal factors for seasonal mood disorders and physical health issues.

Absolutely!
Oddly, i do not remember near as much #WinterCatastrophism back in the 60's & '70's when we were significantly less #CarDependent than now. It's a vicious #cycle that the more we fear the #temperature, the less time we spend outside and the thinner, draughtier and colder our everyday clothes have become (clothes for shopping, for work and for school.) What passes as #WinterClothes today, so much of it is garbage.
