Just finished reading two cracking good queer space operas by Everina Maxwell. Highly recommend.

There was a main character in one of them who I somehow cast in my head as the actor who played Jeff on . He was so similar and just as ambivalently sympathetic. I couldn't really visualize the other guy as a particular actor, but Tennal was totally Jeff. Sometimes my brain just does that.

I love the world of Winter's Orbit, where almost everyone wears simple symbolic pronoun markers in the form of jewelry. Wood for masc, flint for fem, glass for nonbinary, and various combinations of them.

Just finished Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell. What a wonderful book. I was wary at first because I don't generally like romances (too much bad history in my own life) but she spun the story expertly and drew me in. It's in a Sci Fi setting and the world is well built and compelling. This is her first novel and I look forward to more.

Wer Literatopia schon länger kennt, weiß, dass ich lange gemeckert habe, dass zu wenig originelle Phantastik erscheint, viel zu viel Einheitsbrei... Seit ca. 2018 wurde es besser, ich habe die letzten Jahre viele gute Bücher gelesen, aber 2022 weiß ich gar nicht, was ich zuerst lesen soll 🤯... Gerade diesen Herbst erscheint so viel coole Phantastik 🥰... Ich werde also jetzt etwas weniger jammern! (wobei: ich will auf Deutsch 😭)
