I’ve been a bit quiet on here, mainly due to trying to tame a third of an acre of wild and woolly #NorthYorkshire! In spite of our prime directive to first and foremost clear weeds and start a decent #compost system, I have managed to plant a bit ☺️
I’ve also been having a go at #SeedSaving these #HeritageVegetables, #pumpkins and #WinterSquash. #GardenOrganic’s Heritage Seed Library has been the source of some incredible veg for me over the last few years.

One of my favorite things about my region's colder months is the seasonal food. I especially love winter squash, which comes with the bonus of having edible seeds that are delicious when roasted.

Makin' soup and listening to the Saturday Night Hoedown
The smaller darker yellow squash I think is a spaghetti squash. I grew that one myself at a place I got renovicted from in spring of 2021, so yeah it's pretty old and might not go in the soup.
I grew the butternut where I live now, harvested the day before Hurricane Fiona destroyed all my gardens.
The lighter yellow one was grown by @simonm223 on his farm, neither of us knows what kind it is.
