Geralt von Rivas Comicabenteuer führt ihn in einen dunklen Wald und dort in eine mysteriöse Villa. Hier trifft er nicht nur auf einen Succubus und einen Keller voller Leichen, sondern auch auf Etwas altem, bösem.

Nachdem der Witcher in Romanen, im Film in PC-Spielen und in Serien unterwegs war, kommt er nun auch als Comicfigur.

I’m reading the #Witcher books at the moment and I’ve become the kind of person who stood reading every so often to consult a map. I don’t even care. It’s enhancing my enjoyment hugely. (The politics also makes a lot more sense than it manages to in the tv show, but that’s hardly surprising).

Had surgery 9 days ago and therefore lots of time at my hands during recovery so I binge watched all 3 seasons of Witcher + blood origin + nightmare of the wolf. Amazing fun and so many things finally connected. Also, great inspiration for TTRPG campaigns. One of my favourites is that wizards (mages) have this official advisor role to play and can't just run around doing whatever they want (unless they go rogue). Also: Deuterium as a means to neutralise or imprison them.

Finished #witcher #series and I think I can tell why so much hate. Not that it’s so bad, it’s processed too much.

Creators removed the Eastern European flavor making it Hollywood-like. I enjoy the inclusivity with actors, but the characters are more naive and looks like teenagers to me. In original story characters are mature, wise and often cruel. Here they are all loving, trusting and respectful. Like making Diablo into Overwatch. For kids.

But it’s watchable

My favourite convention purchase was not done by me but by my seat friend Jason Durall.

He flew to GenCon and brought back the #Witcher #rpg for me before it was even published in Germany. I was very happy.

I hate the combat oriented system for a philosophical story like the Witcher's is, though. I played it once and used - well - Fate.

A quick map from today's #Witcher #TTRPG session. Our players are in the Four Maples, near the port town of Bremervoord in Cidaris. The Witcher Torsolt and the dwarf craftsman Cadfael are in the forest near a woodland camp belonging to the Rangers of the Forest, a vigilante/militia group who are hostile to elderfolk. Our bard Elysey has split from the rest of the party and is trying to infiltrate the Rangers, and has met with their local leader, a warrior woman named Sabina.
