The court set a bail amount of 5 billion tomans ($120,000) for his temporary release, which his family could not pay. The Coordinating Council of the Teachers’ Union has reported that Navaei was coerced into making a forced confession.

It’s always blown my mind that the Salem witch trials 1- actually happened in what is now Danvers “Salem village” 2- were essentially 1690s version of a viral TikTok.

I've done some videos about the #Witch Panics in #Galloway , and while it's a subject I'll definitely come back to, the story of Elspeth McEwen is one of the best documented, and the story of the Mass #WitchTrial in #Dumfries is one of the most egregious things to have happened in South-West Scotland.
