"Thurston" is Dr. Thurston Lane Wilder, chairman of the board of trustees of the James C. Wilder Foundation. The Wilders and Lanes are two major #WoldNewton families. Sia's a Foundation trustee and their top agent because she's the great 20th-century hero Doc Wilder's granddaughter on her mother's side. Basically I'm aping the structure of #DocSavage novels in a longer and far less "pulpy" format.

While I'm trying to decide which chapter to edit next, I'm just going to mention this little piece of trivia I've never publicly revealed before. Chaos Angel Spanner, I've said before, is pretty much openly a #WoldNewton story. Read deeper, especially around the enmity between "Dragonite" hereditary vampires and "Factor-Positives", and you'll see it's also a #SimeGen story too, at least in direct influence.

#Spanner #AmEditing continued: Speaking of Dick Becket, there's a #WoldNewton bonus associated with him. You see, he's the hereditary king of the Blackcoats, the Syndicate of the Black Mantle founded/taken over by Count Cagliostro. His mother, one Delphine Drake Becket Abernethy, is the youngest child of Wold Newton villainess Urania Moriarty, daughter of Sherlock Holmes' nemesis, by Business Plot figure Robert Putney Drake. That's why he's Hitler's godson. So this "hero" is a born villain.

A note, especially for #WoldNewton, #DocSavage, and #StarTrek fans (did you know Spock's descended from major Wold Newton figure Sherlock Holmes through his mother?): "Sia is Doc Savage as a beautiful bisexual slut" is a riff on "Captain Kirk is a beautiful lesbian", which originated in this classic blog post:

One more #Spanner-related thing I don't think I've ever mentioned online before, except maybe in the old project blog I abandoned back in 2015: this is a #WoldNewton story. In 1999 I decided, after reading about Philip José Farmer's Wold Newton project, to make Sia the great-granddaughter of Doc Savage, here called Doc Wilder. Lately I built an entire hero foundation around him, the Wilder Foundation.

Sia is basically Doc Savage as a beautiful bisexual slut.

Red Pangolina's not #cyberpunk, but it's still in the #Spanner branch of the #WoldNewton universe, starring one of its major characters (Willa Richter-Thomas during her late '80s-early '90s Rockergirl glory days) in a story about her wild and tragic love for a Viktor Tsoi-like Soviet rocker in the dying days of the Soviet Union. The titular fire-engine-red Soviet sports car is the symbol of their love introduced in Spanner In The Works. I'm excited about this.
