Went to a “Women Technical Principals Night” last evening. Brought a Senior Principal dude with me by claiming he was my platonic lesbian work life-partner.

I usually don’t go to these things because woman-only spaces turn into ineffective bitch sessions. You can’t break the system by changing yourself.

You need to subvert and suborn the voices with power.

One of my favorite projects this summer has been building and programming the Makeblock mBot Neo robot with my daughter. Pretty impressive kit! And you can program it with coding blocks or with Python. What a cool way to introduce kids to coding and robotics.

I usually have to drag her kicking and screaming to study, now she keeps asking me. The only downside? She keeps asking to borrow my computer!

Now it's time for back-to-school!

TILT is that the newer Chromecast devices will only let you cast through apps, which is a disaster if you're in a classroom setting.

Also, the iPhone Home app with a workspace domain account flames out after naming the thing and you have to finish the setup with the remote.

...which lets you cast from any screen to it.

So the stuff I set up with my android phone doesn't work and the ones where I used the iPhone did. Either way I'm redoing a lot of work.

Before taking a header into the sidewalk, I learned that you can change your domain login in Google admin, which is nice. You'll lose all your settings on your Chromebook if you do, which is not nice.

Women are biologically less inclined to work in tech?

I recently wrote an article about #feminist technoscience. A field of study that concerns itself with the bias and perspectives we build into our developments. And discussed how we could balance out the male bias by hiring more women.

Not surprisingly, men felt they had to lecture me on how women are biologically not inclined to be interested in tech 🙄

If you know more about the history of tech, especially programming, you probably find this as absurd as I do.
But not everybody does. Most of the information about women in tech has been removed from the history book. They've become invisible.

This article is my response to this ludicrous claim.
