If I could afford it I’d start my own instance for #NWSL #WoSo but I really don’t have the money or the energy to moderate beyond who interacts with my specific account so I welcome recommendations from people who have tried other instances.

I don’t want an instance too small where people are uninterested in #WomenSoccer but I also want a space that is queer-friendly and at least tries to be anti-fascist / anti-racist in moderating who joins/interacts with the instance.

I plan on making the soccer account more international-friendly and less US-centric than many NWSL accounts on the bird app.

Even though the league is based in the US and many of the athletes are US team national players there are many NWSL fans across the globe.

I will not shy away from posting about the abuses in the league but will be more careful to use Content Warnings than most bird app accounts.

I will do my best to use alt text and descriptions for any videos or photos I post - which is very inconsistent and often non-existent on the bird app.

I want it to be a supportive environment and not a space to trash-talk athletes or teams, which doesn’t mean humour and gentle teasing isn’t welcome.

I would post mostly major news updates from the league so that people don’t have to completely rely on Instagram or Twitter to know what’s going on in the league but it wouldn’t be a replacement for what’s out there.

I love playing #FIFA 🎮 and I also love the #NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) and I’ve been waiting years for them to finally add the league to the game 🥹

They finally added some women’s club teams to FIFA23 (they’ve had some women’s national teams since FIFA16) and now we’re getting the NWSL next week (March 15).

I really wish we could have career mode (player and manager) for women’s leagues but I’ll just keep dreaming that they’ll add that in my lifetime (maybe with their rebrand coming up soon)🤞
