I recall Ross Ihaka explaining the performance hit when your vector grew too large came from under the hood R would increase the size of the vector and *copy* the existing vector into the new location, but he then followed up by saying it didn’t matter because if you cared about performance you wouldn’t use R.
Not a bug. #WontFix
This may have been in response to my explanation for how to increase the performance of R, although I was focussed on parallelisation of workloads
@chronovore @marcan yeah - or at least don't close it whilst adding #cantfix / #wontfix / #blocked labels to it...
@chronovore People who "close issue as stale" are the worst and I share the dislike if not hate that @marcan has for these kinds of people.
I'd rather have an issue open for years than closing it despite being neither #cantfix nor #wontfix.
@ackack @godotengine looking at https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/30558 it seems to be a #WONTFIX
Let me get this straight, they fixed AppCache, they fixed History, but they won't fix CSS Transition's "Faster Reversal"? #wontfix
I was just pointed to a lovely typo in a paper of mine from 9 years ago: "a lover bound". 😍 #WontFix
@davidsmith @CodenameTim @carlton @wsvincent
👍 I have a placeholder for next week's newsletter. Shame we have to sleep or we'd have been able to fit it into the week's issue. Filing a #wontfix bug on the sleep, but we can re-post to spread the word until then.
after a cursory investigation it turns out you just don’t have enough CPUs #wontfix
