I realized after someone spotted that my dinos are the Wobbles’s Fred pattern that I haven’t mentioned that since the very beginning. I think I mentioned it initially…

Fred was the reason I started crocheting (well that and recovering from surgery) but I found it hard and my future mother-in-law suggested I start with the basics so I put him aside for awhile.

I still haven’t made the green version I bought. 🤣

My sister keeps getting #Woobles ads on fb and she just asked of my disco dino, “where are his tummy stripes?” Oops! How could I forget that? I think I was traumatized by the struggle I had sewing on the spikes. I learned in this process that I need to relearn how to sew.

Luckily they will be super easy to add.

#Woobles uses a G 4.0mm hook with worsted (4) weight yarn. Per a quick google search that hook size is 1.5 mm - 2.5 mm lower than the recommended hook size for that yarn weight.

If I’m going to make the same pattern but with a super bulky (6) yarn should I go 1.5 mm - 2.5 mm down in recommended hook size for that weight yarn?

With amigurumi is smaller better? Should I go 2.5 mm smaller for the hook?

Crocheting in the Target parking lot while my daughter shops. Working on my #Woobles Disco Fred for my nephew’s birthday.

Using my new crochet bag. It is really cool It has two yarn guides but they’re straps and snaps not grommets or velcro which both kinda worry me. Your work is stuck in a grommet and wouldn’t the yarn snag on the velcro? Anywho the seller is awesome and so’s the bag.

For the holidays I gave myself a Woobles beginner crochet kit and made a cute little penguin. Kiddo helped out with the stuffing, but otherwise I did all of it. There's some errors, sure, but I had zero experience and I feel it came out pretty well! Now off to find patterns for Pokemon and TTRPG monsters 😈
