Just came upon this propaganda piece on #WoodrowWilson from #Britannica . Grovels about his "high-minded idealism" while not saying a word about his segregationist policies, love of the KKK, prosecution of war critics, or dishonestly dragging the US into WWI after promising to stay out. Britannica is coasting on its past reputation as a reliable information source.

8/23 America wove a wink-wink social fabric with #racism that was never rooted out but left to simmer as long as former slaves stayed in their place; and would boil over in terrorizing violence whenever they threatened to get too uppity, or successful.

This simmering tension has been a part of the American landscape since forever, and it got cranked up under Virginia Democrat #WoodrowWilson — he was not your typical racist, but one considered extreme even by the standards of his day. Yikes.

Ettore Boiardi was a phenom in the kitchen. He left #Italy at 16 and was so good he scored a gig at the swanky #PlazaHotel in #NewYork. Within a few years he was the Head Chef.
