With the dry season, the local ponds start to dry up, attracting all manner of big, fish-eating water birds to the newly shallow water. If I'm lucky, they're too absorbed in picking easy meals to notice me taking pictures

The Wood Stork isn’t known in the avian world particularly for it’s pretty face or beauty but that doesn’t mean it’s not a worthwhile bird. In fact, it’s uniqueness is what makes him/her a standout.
