Bit of an update on the frankenflute project.
Allowing the wooden pieces to relax and a bit of moisture has allowed the cracks to close up considerably.
Cracks glued so now to stabilise the piece using carbon banding.
Primarily to hold the wood in place really.
The metal liner will be refitted in due course.
The headjoint in particular was split along its length.
It's not a process I've done a great deal of so it's a great opportunity to try out new processes.
