The ups and downs of doing your own carpentry, one bench done and already given out,, another bench in the making ready to go in my front garden but the big downfall of the day, went to fix my wobbly desk and bowed desk, took it all apart, the legs are beyond repair without specialist plainer tools which I don't have and the same with the top, well time to get new wood for a new desk

After 10 days chelating in a molasses/water solution, most of the rust is gone and we're down to bare metal. Gave it a brass wire brushing to loosen anything that'd fall off and get access to the last little bit, then put it back in the dip. My new go-to for #rustremoval on my #woodwoking #tools.

Mark 1 Bat House is completed. Some adjustments had to be made and I will do a few things differently for Mark 2.

I'm hopeful this will help curtail the mosquito population in our back yard.

Started the process of cleaning up some hand planes. Took one apart, cleaned it up using some dish soap and a nylon brush, now it is soaking in a tub of Evapo-Rust. This one does not have a blade, cap, chip breaker, or tote. So it is the safer one to use as a first test. #woodwoking #HandTools
