First little project I've made with the use of the Router Plane.
12mm screws, offcuts of laminate flooring and a steel rule.
‘I am not interested in telling people to make furniture to sell. I only teach to preserve the craft in living people and to make for themselves, family and friends.’
– Paul Sellers
That’s the only reason I’m in #woodworking, be it furniture or other. And while Sellers is in my top five people to learn techniques from, Chickadee is who lit my fire for #handtools.
‘I venture to say that amateurs using hand tools now outnumber professionals using hand tools at ten thousand to one.’ – Sellers
It's incredible how much of *doing things* is about having the right tools/equipment/software.
I've had my dad's mitre saw for the last few weeks (I'm definitely getting one for myself).... and it's enabled such a jump in what I can build.
Sometimes imposter syndrome is fed by not having the right resources.
Built this rolling work table this afternoon including bisecting a spare 6x6" for the legs. Much easier with the right tools.
Yup! The Jointer and the Jack both need sharpening badly.
My Smoothing plane dud a better job than the two of them on this old hunk of bench wood...
#woodworking
Yup! The router plane works. But it definitely needs sharpened blades.

You know? For having never used Japanese pull saws I'm surprised at how easy I seem to be able to use them.
Used this for the first time today and I was spot on... incredible.
Still not built anything yet, though. Lol
#woodworking
So my collection of Record Planes is complete for my needs.
Can't wait to try out the router plane and jointer. Jointer probably will need sharpening.

Bringing Da Vinci’s Saw Mill to Life - DaVinci’s notebook — the real one, not the band — was full of wonderous inventions... - https://hackaday.com/2023/09/11/bringing-da-vincis-saw-mill-to-life/ #leonardodavinci #woodworking #toolhacks #history #sawmill

And the dumbest part of that assertion is, I've already seen people remake their remotes with wooden buttons...
They look fantastic, by the way.

I’m a big believer in unfinished projects. There’s no shame in putting artwork down when inspiration dries up, and just waiting to see what happens. I started these 3 pieces (on pine) 7 years ago. They finally got more attention today. When feeling creative, I don’t always want to start something. It’s nice having a library of projects at various stages, evolving over time

Some fractal burn kitchenware, finished with mineral oil and beeswax. I turned the bowls from some donated ash logs, and the spoons were created from free leftovers wooden utensils from a yard sale. #WoodTurning #FractalArt #Woodworking #Craft #Upcycle

About ready to glue up a new board for a cheese slicer. May try throwing the purple heart in the oven first to bring it back to purple more. (Actually just learned about that!) #WoodWorking
