@alienskyler @autogynamelia Indeed; the whole purpose of communicating is conveyance. It might be from one person or group to another, or it might be across time, but if you fail to convey what you set out to, then your or hindered your effective , and thus reduced the effectiveness of what you originally set out to do by communicating in the first place.

Different situations call for different language styles. A dinner conversation is not a court hearing.

"Her hand landed on his shoulder."

Did it fall from the sky, maybe?

“I have an announcement”:
-boring
-could have been an email
-is this middle school assembly

“I have a proclamation”:
-mysterious

Saw this lovely quote on Tumblr & had to laugh. I got hung up on "prettily" for about a week. Have managed to edit out all but one usage in my WIP (where I refer to a woman's dark red hair). 😄

What word crushes have you had? 🥰📝

The aforementioned quote:

Question. How familiar are people with the term "terroir?"

What's more, if you were watching a movie and someone used the term "psychic terroir" in reference to the vibe of a place, would you have any idea what they were talking about?

Gonna make this a survey for easy answering, please boost for a sample size that my reflect GenPop familiarity.
