I just entered a #contest that said they wanted between 50,000 and 100,000 words. My #novel was 116,000 words. I entered it, saying I thought editing might work to bring it down to 100,000 if necessary. They gave me an email saying 116,000 was fine. Just #write and your #book will tell you how long it needs to be. #writingcommunity #writing #amwriting #bookstodon

@orionkidder @bookstodon @winonakent Yes, that seems like a long #shortstory to me. I am not sure whether people are changing the length for #flashfiction , #shorts , #novelettes , #novellas #novels , etc. but I have written many pieces that are that long and I just call it a longer short #story . #wordlengthchart #publishing #writingcommunity #writing
