A new era began this week in my work-from-home journey: a room of my own!

When the pandemic hit I set my laptop and monitor from work on my desk in our living room and ... well, pretty much stayed there with the exact same setup for the last three years. Keeping it that way helped me to think of the whole world situation as a temporary interruption. But no more. I'm moving on to the future and the future has a nice view.

I like working at home and we have gone hybrid. I have a great setup for working at home. Separate room, phone, scanner, printer, coffee machine, fridge with juice and snacks. Very comfortable chair (a must) and a larger monitor (would like a 32", but 24" works). Only downside is my headset for PC based conference calls (O365) must be wired and not wireless.

Okay so can be difficult when you're fighting the urge to sit on your bed...then lie down on your bed...then just stay there.

The does not help. I'm struggling to just sit at my desk, let alone work. I feel such a strong aversion to it, that this is getting ridiculous. Time to myself out of this mess. If I can get the willpower to start.

Turned my compost today to take a break from brain freeze/keep things active in the winter. There was steam, but my phone didn’t capture it.
1st pic: leaves are great insulation, but they stay fairly dry at the top of the bin.
2nd pic: that’s what the bottom looks like. I’m telling you, gravity pulls liquid down!
3rd pic: how the bin looks when I’m done turning. I break up clumps, add more leaves/dry to the bottom.
The turning spurs activity, heat, shrinkage.
