To reinforce how toxic American work ethic can be, I feel GUILTY for not being at work right now.
I have COVID and I'm contagious. That alone is a great reason to not be there. But I'm also feeling like shit. Another good reason.
And yet I feel guilty. I feel very strongly that the onus is on me to justify my absence. This should not be the case. It's a symptom of a broken social condition.
