We're now 25 working days from the first of our #PGRsAsStaff members losing their job.
After the lack of serious engagement from our employer since we raised the FTC redundancies in April our only option has been to escalate under our dispute procedure.
This means involving elected UCU representatives in a meeting to discuss the #PGRsAsStaff redundancies.
In the meantime, following our member consultation, we are progressing plans to hold a statutory ballot.
We’ve now registered another dispute with our employer, this time over the breach of our recognition agreement after they failed to reply to correspondence.
Members are disappointed that the employer is not engaging with us to resolve this & other serious issues.
Busy week. Our consultative ballot on #NoRedundancies is still LIVE #VoteYes🚀
Further updates will be provided to members next week on steps we are taking to resolve our other live issues:
Recognition
Pay
ACAS talks
HSE complaint
Hybrid working

We intend to maintain a strong & democratic branch where members organise to support each other & prioritise those hit hardest by the #CostOfLivingCrisis. Members are concerned to organise around a number of urgent campaigns. That's our priority.
Poaching is not the type of example to set to the trade union movement & it weakens collective bargaining. We hope that these activites & the attacks on our branch will now stop.

Our branch is disappointed at actions taken by non-Unite members of #UCU's SMT & management who have attempted to poach members from Unite.
Recently a small number of #UCU SMT & management resigned from our branch & joined a rival union. They are reportedly unhappy with our democratic decision to press for a pay deal weighted towards helping those at the bottom of the pay scale during the #CostOfLivingCrisis.
