A good lesson for :

One project I did for an Italian publisher proved quite popular. It was, unfortunately, -- I received one check upon completion. None of its sales benefitted me further.

Another project (the book I disliked most while writing) has generated about $500 in a year ... for the last 30 years!!!

If you can afford to, never take work for hire. Your future self will thank you.
