用上真无线耳机第三天,刚才学单词被声波震得左耳痒痒,随手一扒拉习惯性等着左耳耳机被耳机线拽着自然下垂,结果它啪嗒一下掉桌子底下了。

Very excited that my first paper with Alessandra Souza and Klaus Oberauer is now published in @PNASNews

We investigated the mechanisms underlying repetition learning as a model system for the interaction between and . By using a Bayesian hierarchical mixture modeling approach to model learning curves on the individual level, we reveal misconceptions in current theories which resulted from aggregating data over individuals.

The question was answered, and what Sue’s research has revealed about working memory, ADHD and Autism is certainly thought-provoking

I felt disappointed, though, after hearing radical views from this morning’s panel of neurodivergent educators (Pete Wharmby, @ferrous and Elliot Spaeth), that her proposed interventions were basically more of the same trying to fit struggling children into a system that wasn’t built for them 😕

Sue has shown summary data showing that both Maths and English scores in English National Curriculum level 2 testing correlate with working memory capacity

Not clear whether these summary data apply across different neurotypes

Now going on to relate this to ADHD though (in relation to children’s struggles with working memory in the classroom) – so perhaps my question will be answered

We developed a mouse-tracking approach to quantify internal representations from behavior at millisecond temporal resolution.

Measuring the *dynamic trajectory* during object reconstruction, we studied mental search over representational space.

Hookmark with link-friendly software is an antidote to limitations of human . Those who understand this will want at least to assess my claim. Reading the rationale of the Manifesto for Ubiquitous may help: linkingmanifesto.org/motivatio

More generally, the software combo extends what Prof. Merlin Donald called short-term control, and intermediate governance, which are two of 3 major forms of human he identified. I trust you will enjoy the boost 😉

Interesting that first it says WMC can be improved, but when prompted is also able to describe limits of the training literature.

I am a postdoc at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, working with Tim Buschman and my brilliant lab mates on transformational geometry in the brain. We ask what are various classes of transformations brains utilize to compute for different tasks, in different contexts and with different objectives. Our main tools consist of linear algebra, differential geometry and group theory. 📐

Hi! I'm a cog psychologist at the Uni of Sheffield, UK, investigating individual differences in cog abilities and how they change (or even improve?!) through experience, using methods from experimental and differential cog psy, & sometimes cog neuro and comp modelling.

A major current project in our lab is a multi-site processing speed training study across the adult life-span using drift-diffusion modelling, so stay tuned!
