What so many seem to forget in this new #covid reality is that school is also not 100% guaranteed #childcare and I'm so glad the article mentions it. Half days, #quarantine, etc there is so much more time during the school year planned and unplanned when kids are home and it seems like the grace that emerged in 2020 for #caregivers has all but gone.

If you're confused why people are fighting like hell to hang on to #hybrid or #wfh flexibility this is worth a read. I don't keep my kids in the house when I wfh (unless necessary, but that's the next post) so I will have to commute 30 minutes each way childcare. Not having to commute to an office after that is a sanity and productivity saver.

THIS!!!! Hits especially close to home as I'm on #maternityleave and we had a serious discussion about whether paying $30k+ in childcare this year was really worth me going back. It was shocking how quickly I went from "I love my job" to "maybe I have to stay home?"
